Birdlife
I have had a particular interest in birdlife since being a young boy growing up in Yorkshire. I still get great pleasure from watching the birds and their behaviour on my doorstep.
As well as my camera kit, other essential items to pack on my travels are a pair of binoculars and a bird guide.
I like to take bird portraits that emphasise the bird's own individual characteristics and adaptations be it a Great Dusky Swift clinging to the rock face of a waterfall, a Kingfisher catching fish in its dagger-like beak or a Nuthatch creeping vertically down a tree trunk.
This gallery consists of a mixture of species from both home and away.
