I have had an interest in photography since being a teenager.  The first camera I bought was a Ricoh KR10 Super film SLR with a Pentax 50mm lens.  My dad and I converted the downstairs toilet into a darkroom and he taught me how to process film.  It started a life-long interest in the hobby.  

 

In 2018, I was successful in gaining the Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society Distinction and formalised my role as a professional photographer by setting up my own business.  

 

I also work for Adult Education in Gloucestershire as a course assessor for the Education and Training Qualification.

​

I am an Internal Quality Assurer for Bridge Training in Gloucester.  In this role I support their tutors and quality assure the assessments of the NCFE accredited qualifications in Photography and Digital Media.

This experience and my background in education as a headteacher and leader is an asset in maintaining professionalism when dealing with business clients and individuals.

Photography helps me see things differently.  It has made me much more mindful and appreciative of my surroundings and everything within it.  I find myself looking at things closely, watching and taking time.  It slows me down, it relaxes me; I can do it anywhere.
